Our ideas to rejuvenate Sydney's Chinatown & upgrade it into a world-class urban space representing the historic & contemporary identities of Asian Australians.
I was very excited to hear of the City of Sydney's announcement of extensive plans to rejuvenate Chinatown, starting with the Dixon St upgrade project & later the Chinatown Public Domain Plan update. As someone who grew up in Chinatown, I have a strong attachment to the history & culture that Chinatown represents, & the important place it holds in the hearts of many Asian Australians.During the City's community consultation period, I submitted a series of ideas that I have imagined over the years to help rejuvenate Chinatown & upgrade it into a world-class urban space representing the historic & contemporary identities of Asian Australians.
You can read our full submission below & share your thoughts & feedback with us.
I am also excited to have connected with @soulofchinatown & look forward to working together, with the City of Sydney to activate & invigorate Chinatown with new ideas & activities.
